Frequently Asked Questions about Senior Photographs

Do you offer Black and White or Sepia-toned Photographs?
Yes, but the way I prefer to handle Black and White or Sepia-toned photographs is to shoot everything in color and then print it Black and Whiter Sepia if requested. I can take the color out of a photograph but I can't add it back. There is no price difference to print photographs in Black and White or Sepia-toned.

Can I have an outfit change?
I encourage you to bring a couple of  outfits when we shoot the initial package. You may want to think about wearing something that will appeal to parents and grandparents and then something that better expresses your personality. I also suggest borrowing a Cap and Gown from your High School so we can take a couple with that on as well.

Can I bring a prop to have in the photos?
Yes, anything that tells who you are as a person is great. Examples: sports accessories, musical instruments, cheer leading equipment, letterman jacket, etc.

Can my pet be in my photos?
Yes, pets are always welcome. They are family too. The only thing I might recommend when bringing pets is that you also bring someone to take care of the pet while I take the other photographs that don't include the pet.

Is it an extra charge if you take a photo of my friend and I while you are shooting my senior photos?
No, not at all. I think it is a great idea to bring along a friend.

Where will my photos be taken? Can I request to be outside?
I prefer taking portrait photography outside. I feel that being in the outdoors gives the photo a warmer feeling and helps add to the story of who "you" are. There are many places in and around Austin that make great backdrops for photo shoots. I can recommend some, or if you have an idea about where you would like to go, please let me know. I am totally open to suggestions.

One of my favorite places to photograph Seniors and also Brides is at Dunvegan Keep. This exciting property is located in South Austin near the intersection of Brodie and Slaughter Lane. Dunvegan Keep is privately owned. As such, there are never more than two or three groups photographing there at the same time. It allows you to be photographed with out a lot of "tourists" around to watch your images being captured. Since it is on private property, there is a small fee to photograph there, payable to the owner. There is a link to Dunvegan Keep here. On my Senior Gallery Page, Danielle, Mikel, Christine and Emily were all photographed at Dunvegan Keep.

I want to get more copies of my photos. Can I copy them myself or does the photographer really own the copyrights still, even though I have the photos?
According to Federal Law, images produced by a professional (photographer, artist, writer, etc.) are copyrighted the moment they are created. The United States Federal Law prohibits copying or reproducing any material without permission from the owner of the copyright. In this case the photographer. Most photographers will also have a stamp or writing of some sort on the backs of the photographs stating their name and DO NOT COPY. I personally have made my reprints and enlargements prices affordable enough for the average person to get professional photos taken. Without feeling like breaking the law, this is the only way their friends and loved ones will be able to receive a photograph.

When will I receive my photos and what do I do from there?
Your photographs will be posted online at www.eventpix.com. You can also find the link by going online to www.jaiybraulick.com and looking for the text that says, "View your photos online" Your name will be listed when the photographs are ready to be viewed. Once your photographs are online, you will then choose which photographs you would like reprints of. When you order extra photographs I request a 50% down payment on any order over $50.00.
